I built the first from some old 24" huffy frames, a computer desk, and a lawn chair. It was not my best invention but it functions well enough within it's limits, and has moved several tons of stuff over it's short existence (not all at once, obviously ;) ). It even survived being pushed by morons into the canal, where it floated (thanks to cooler tied to it, despite having a car battery inside the cooler!) until I got some help to drag it out. It's about the size of a wheelchair, designed with the idea that it would be able to be gotten in thru my front door even while loaded and attached to the bike. That mostly works. ;)

It's replacement is a flatbed trailer made from a big aluminum panel that used to be the front of a mainframe-type computer system. I'm certain that the same panel can be seen in a Star Trek movie, either The Motion Picture or The Wrath of Khan, in engineering or the torpedo room, but it's been a really long time since I saw those. It uses urethane-filled wheelchair wheels at the rear, and for now the casters from the wheelchair on the front. The towbar is an old aluminum crutch, with a pivoting-ball headrest mount off a powerchair of some type forming the tow-pivot point, and a small chain and cotterless pin to hold the trailer onto the bike. It's not yet finished, so any of the above may change by the time it gets road tested. :) Right now, due to the quickrelease wheels, it's even easy to store when not in use.

I like the storability, nice touch. Big rear wheels for less drag is good, unlike my present trailer which uses hand truck-type wheels. Overall cool.
